Hi Andrew,
it looks absolutely INCREDIBLE  Very well done.

Bye,
Martin

P.S. What was his name? Frozo ?

I modified the head and visor a bit. I can't wait for bones, positioning this character was really difficult.

I believe you. That will become easier for sure.

Bye,
Martin

methods used ?

Hello, Nice character !
could you tell us a little bit about your methods ?

- Is the entire figure 1 mesh?
- Are the colors/textures based on a polygon selection,
or other kind of mapping?
- If positionning was hard, how did you succeed ?
- On one of the renderings, one can see an "underlying mesh"
how did you get this effect ?
Are they the real polygons making up the character?
In that case: extremely effective constructing !
- On the subject matter :
why an existing icon like frozone?
is he your personal idol, or was it a personal or
professional challenge ?

I'm curious...

bye

- Is the entire figure 1 mesh?
It's two meshes, one for the body and one for the visor.
- Are the colors/textures based on a polygon selection,
or other kind of mapping?
Yeh they are polygon selections.
- If positionning was hard, how did you succeed ?
I had a basic ref. image.
- On one of the renderings, one can see an "underlying mesh"
how did you get this effect ?
That was the only image I composited together from a screen grab of the iso mesh and a raytraced render.
Are they the real polygons making up the character?

Yeh the model was made up of polygons and then subdivided.

Wow what an interesting question. I love the movie and Samuel L Jackson was an excellent choice. As for my reasons for modeling him it was to see if I could. The extras on the DVD give me the idea. Pixar use a generic model for the basic of all the secondary models. So I took my Morph model and had a go. I've also covered all the techniques used on my DVD.
