DOF effect cool....

Just playing with a glass for a new job and while I was experimenting with the DOF setting (turned all the way up to 1) I got this !

I thought it looked quite cool...a digital rebirth of impressionism...

That's what I wanted until messing around got the better of me and kind of like the DOF effect.

Hi Luke,
very well done. But if you make extreme (very blurry) DOF renderings you should probably use more DOF samples. So the blur becomes smoother and not so edgy.

For still images you could also go to the renderer Preferences "Render -> Render Preferences" and set the "Sampler" property to "RQMC" (Randomized Quasi Montecarlo Sampling).
