GPU-accelerated Metal 3D view - Render out images and videos

In situations where photorealism is not required, or a client only wants a previsualization of a project, being able to just set a resolution and FPS and render out images or video animations with the Metal 3D view would be fantastic. On my MacBook Pro M1 Max it takes a minute or more to render anything visible with the Cheetah or Falcon CPU-based render engines, while the Metal 3D viewport outputs a steady 120 frames per second (and in my opinion, looks really great already!). The Metal 3D viewport is already in Cheetah3D, so I would just like a way to insert those frames into a file without having to use the screen recording workaround.

Blender has an option for such a render preview and it is also really useful for quickly checking animation.
